Customer Reviews
Great value for money
Along with the others I would say this is really good value for money. The LCD and recorded picture(s) are excellent and probably
comparable with kit £200 more expensive.
My only quibble is that I have tried Sony "clone" batteries of different sizes/makes which are cheapish and readily available but none of
them work. I am loathe to fork out on true Sony ones as these are hellish expensive.
I would appreciate any comments from users who experienced aimilar and how they reolved it.
pretty good
owned for 3 months. battery supplied is pretty poor. no dvi cable. pic quality improves on HI 8 but if you connect to HD ready/HD tv you
can see limitations of the ccd.
If you want light compact and portable with acceptable pic quality, its ok. if you want better consider waiting for HD cameras to come
down in price
excellent camera for the price
i'll keep this review simple - i used numerous high quality dv cams at university while studying animation, so i know a fair amount about
the technology, and for the price i paid a few weeks ago on amazon (£[...]), this little gem is a bargain.
overall excellent, great quality of image and sound, some nice (if basic) features, great widescreen mode, and the docking station is
very useful.
my single gripe is the horrid sony software that's supplied - i'd definitely recommended using a third-party application if you can. oh,
and if you're using firewire make sure you have a cable as one isn't supplied, though a usb2 cable is included, so it's not all bad.
another quick recommendation - get a spare battery - the one supplied lasts about 40mins, not bad but not a full 60mins of a dv tape, so
a little frustrating when you're out and about - and when using the batteries for the 1st time take the battery level indicators with a
pitch of salt, in my experience it only gives an accurate reading once drained and then charged a few times.
