My first impression when opening the box was WOW! I then took a picture and was amazed at the quality of the screen. Sadly after a holiday in Barcelona taking photo's I'm less impressed.

Firstly it looks amazing, the quality is impressive, its quite easy to use, and the screen is high resolution and very clear.

I don't feel it deserves 5 stars though, if I could it would be 3 and a half.

The camera copes well with normal conditions, however in less than ideal situations it struggles. In low light with no flash it takes an age to take a picture so every shot in the aquarium is a blurred mess. Shutter lag is quite poor indoors. It also doesn't seem to like high contrast shots, if one area is dark and another bit bright the bright bit is totally over exposed. Images are colourful, but rather overly so I feel with skin tones looking like one had been in the sun far too long even at the beginning of the trip.

Battery life is also quite dissapointing, I was down to one bar after one days shooting, must be that awesome screen.

Its not bad this camera, image quality is reasonable, video is reasonable, and everything else is brilliant.
However I buy a camera to take pictures and the results are less good than comparable cameras from panasonic (FX3), fuji (F20) and canon.
In the end it nearly won me over but for the next hol I got a panasonic Fx3 which took considerably better shots and the samsung is now on ebay.

These cannot do Mp3s but my separate mp3 player is easier to use and sounds far better. Its a great all in one device this, but not as good as separate options.
